Fermona

In recent years I've begun to rely more and more on improvisation in the song writing process. Fermona, however, was a more historically typical writing experience. I ground out each bar over the course of a few weeks. 

The result feels like an ominous trek through a creepy forest. A frantic flight, and a blissful escape. Or is it? Mwahahaha.

Fermona was a giantess in The Hike, the book that influenced this collection. She was one of the first dangers the hero encountered and nearly ate him up. She (and the book in general) loomed large in my mind as I wrote this song.
